Miracle’s Field
“The group of buildings, clustered on and about this verdant carpet, comprising the Tower, the Baptistery, the Cathedral and the Cemetery: is perhaps the most remarkable and beautiful in the whole world; and from being clustered there, together [...] they have a singularly, vulnerable and impressive character. It is the architectural essence of a rich old city”
Charles Dickens, 1844
In the past it represented the symbol of the economic and political power of the Ancient Maritime Republic of Pisa.. Thanks to the pisan-romanesque style masterpieces it holds, the square has always been the starting point of any walking tour in Pisa.
In the square you will see 5 monuments:

The Cathedral
The Cathedral
The Baptistery
The Cemetery
The Bell tower
The old Hospital, which is today the Museum of Sinopias
The tour aims to show you the monuments together with the sociopolitical context in which they were built. I warmly suggest tourists to visit monuments inside in order to discover the masterpieces they preserve.
